JOSÉ HERRERA GALLEGOS SMA


Full-time painter, Herrera Gallegos (Oaxaca, México) is one of the most active watercolorists in his country. Member of the Mexican Society of Watercolorists (SMA). He is not an academy artist as he only learned seeing some artists in the streets of his city.

 He has also been a teacher in public and private schools.

In recent years he has given numerous workshops in Mexico and abroad and has participated in several watercolor festivals getting some prizes. His theme is based mostly on the work of the human figure portraying the ethnic groups of his country mainly.

Herrera Gallegos currently shows his work in his own gallery located in his hometown.
