Agnes Geets

Agnes Geets, born in Mechelen, Belgium, is now based in Duffel, Belgium. 

Throughout her life she always loved drawing but around 13 years ago, she got fascinated by watercolors after seeing a painting exhibited in the hallway of the hospital and decided to make a start in this wonderful medium.  A challenge, because she had to divide her time between her daily job, family and then painting. 

 

Mainly self-taught, Agnes started to participate each year in a workshop given by a renowned artist.  It taught her to hone her natural ability and skills, influenced and inspired by them, making her the artist she is today.

 

The subjects Agnes paints are varied, but figure and portrait painting are her first love and her main strength. She is fascinated by how light and shadow can express features in a face and always tries to capture the personality.  

 

Agnes is member of AIB, the Belgian watercolorsociety and IWS Belgium
