Rosa Sepple PRI


Rosa Sepple was born in London of Italian/British parents. Living between Venice and London for most of her early years, spending time in the inspirational company of her Italian grandfather, artist, Salvatore Casagrande.


Rosa is a self-taught artist, commencing her career in the late nineties to develop an exciting, vibrant and highly original style. She has a worldwide following of private collectors and has participated in numerous major art exhibitions, including the Royal Academy in London and the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Exhibition. In 2004 she was elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI)


She has had several solo shows in fine art galleries throughout the UK including the sell-out exhibition of 120 paintings at the Mall Galleries, London, in 2015 which coincided with the release of her first book, ‘Out of the Blue’. Her two latest exhibitions ‘Reflections’, also at the Mall Galleries in 2017 and ‘Dreamscapes’, at Adrian Hill Fine Art in Holt, Norfolk in 2018 resulted in two further sell-out shows.

 

Recent awards have included The Frank Herring Award for ‘Best figurative painting’, The Elizabeth Scott Moore Award, The Debra Manifold Award, The Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Award, The Andrew Hillier Award for ‘Creativity’ and two Daler- Rowney Awards.

 

In 2017 Rosa Sepple was elected as President of the RI, the first female to hold this position since the Institute’s inception in 1831.
