Myriam Dury

Myriam Dury, born in Brussels in 1962, I now live in Vezin, a small town near Namur.

As a child, I spent my free time painting and drawing. But work and family monopolized me for a long time and I abandoned my hobby. Until Christmas 2003 when watercolor came to me as a gift under the tree! Since then, watercolor has never left me. I started out on my own first, through reading specialized books, before taking several courses and workshops with professional watercolor artists. The hobby has become a passion.

I exhibit little but I give watercolor lessons for beginners by making them discover all the joys of this medium.

I don't have any favorite subjects; flowers, objects, landscapes are pretexts to play with water and pigments.  I love both the development of a project and its realization. I try different approaches, try to create effects of texture, contrasting colors and above all hope to bring emotion.
