Kim Minichiello AWS


 Kim Minichiello is an internationally recognized award-winning artist whose career in art and design has spanned more than 30 years. As a designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, she worked on the concept development and design of shops, restaurants, and attractions for Disney theme parks worldwide. Her plein air paintings done on location at Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom parks, are featured at the “Art of Disney Gallery” in Epcot. Through her design career she has lived in Paris, France and Hong Kong, China and has traveled throughout Asia and Europe.

 

Kim is a signature member of American Woman Artists, the American Watercolor Society, and the Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Florida Watercolor Societies, and was 2019 President of the Florida Watercolor Society. She is a member of thirteen professional painting societies and is a founding member of the Orlando, Florida Chapter of the Worldwide Urban Sketchers Organization.  She has exhibited her work in Europe, China, Japan, Hong Kong and throughout the United States, winning numerous awards. The most notable being: the Winsor & Newton Award in the “151st American Watercolor Society Exhibition”, Best Floral in the 9th and “10th Annual Plein Air Salons”, and The Southwest Art Magazine Award in “Making Their Mark: American Women Artists” at the Booth Museum of Western Art.  She has been featured in global publications including Watercolor Artist Magazine and Splash 22.  In 2020 she was one of 56 artists worldwide chosen for “The Fabriano Watercolour 2020 Exhibition” at the Museo della Carta e della Filigranna, in Fabriano, Italy. 

 

Kim is a studio painter working in a representational style greatly influenced and inspired by her passion for travel, studying other cultures and her love of nature. She does plein air painting regularly, which gives her a chance to continuously study the natural world, and to paint from life in a more expressionist manner. She loves teaching workshops internationally, whether in person or online.
