Alexandra Bryksa

 Alexandra Bryksa has graduated from the Sambir Pedagogical College with a teaching degree for primary school and from the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv with a Master’s degree.

 Alexandra was very creative since an early age. She painted on absolutely everything, including living room walls, her school bag, the underside of her school desk. When she was studying at the Pedagogical College she understood that she must change the direction of her career and focus on art. This was when watercolour entered her life. 

Since 1993, Alexandra Bryksa has been living in Prague. Here, influenced by the beauty of the city, she has been creating her art in a variety of media. The first series of her works in Prague was a collection of watercolours called"Mysterious Corners of Prague". She has been working in different techniques and her paintings have been exhibited in a number of local and international galleries.

In 2015 she became a member of the International Watercolor Association

and in 2016 was elected as country head of IWS Czech Republic. Since then she has been actively involved in the promotion of this organization, being a member of the jury at a number of international festivals of watercolour art and represents the Czech Republic at international exhibitions and symposia,  bringing together a community of Czech watercolour artists who can present themselves abroad.

 

At present  Alexandra Bryksa  is mainly interested in watercolour painting. The magic of this media fascinates and drives her to create increasingly challenging themes. Watercolour painting, according to her, has no boundaries and allowsfor the creation of masterpieces that can compare with other media. Her artwork is not limited to one subject matter. She likes to explore diverse topics such as human portrait, nature, architecture and she also creates abstract paintings with philosophical thoughts. 

 

"Every day brings new experiences that can hardly be described with the samecolours and brush strokes" – that is Alexandra Bryksa’s creative motto.
