Aimee Birnbaum RI

 I was born in New York, USA, my grandparents having arrived to Ellis Island as immigrants from the Ukraine and Russia.  

 

I trained both as a ballet dancer and as an artist, at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston. 

 

Living and working in London, I became a proud citizen of the UK. I am an elected member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, and serve on the  RI Council as Social Media Curator.  

 

I am attracted to mysterious, strange, sublime and supernatural themes.

 

We artists are porous, absorbing energies beyond ourselves, and so I find that my work explores both primeval time, fantasies of ancestral homeland, and current turmoil about contemporary world crises.
